Momentum Waikato’s Share the Stage campaign to fund the new Waikato Regional Theatre has shifted up a gear with the launch of our ‘Take a Seat’ public offer.
Fans of the Theatre now have the opportunity to tangibly show their support for this exciting new performing arts centre being built in the South End of Hamilton’s CBD.
Donate $1500 to the Theatre, either in one go or over several scheduled payments, and you or your family’s name, or your business or group’s title, will be displayed on a seat in the auditorium.
To donate or just find out more, either visit sharethestage.co.nz/takeaseat or contact Momentum via momentumwaikato.nz/contact.
If you support this exciting vision and you live anywhere in the Waikato, then please do Take a Seat in the new Waikato Regional Theatre!
Momentum is currently raising the final $5 million required to complete the $80 million project, so that the new facility and its operations can open debt-free and hit the ground running in mid-2024.
The ‘Take a Seat’ initiative aims to raise around $1 million by seeking donations for at least 670 of the 1300 seats in the lyric-style show space.
Since the Share the Stage campaign was launched in partnership with the Waikato Times at the start of May, around $1.2 million of that final five million has been pledged by generous individuals and a diverse range of businesses and trusts of all sizes, including the Donny Trust, lawyers Tompkins Wake and local jewellers Precious Metals.
The Waikato Regional Theatre will be just that - the premier venue for the entire Waikato region. The world’s best entertainment will be regularly within easy reach of everyone from the Coromandel to Tokoroa to Te Kuiti.
It will be an impressive state-of-the-art, world-class performance venue - the pride of Kirikiriroa-Hamilton and the Waikato. The 1300-seat auditorium will feature crystal-clear acoustics, up-close sightlines and a range of possible stage and viewing configurations, enabling it to showcase any and every kind of live performance. It will drive the Waikato’s cultural life and identity for decades to come.
