New view of the Theatre from the river

Here’s a new concept pic from Jasmax, showing how the Theatre will look from down on the river.

Giant frame holds up Hamilton Hotel façade

A critical mission at the Theatre that is now completed is the erection and plugging in of the steel retention frame to hold up the former Hamilton Hotel façade while the new complex is built behind it. In the pictures below, the scale of the frame can be seen from several angles.

Take a Seat is stacking up

The Take a Seat effort continues apace – donations have now been received for the naming of 115 seats in the auditorium of the new Waikato Regional Theatre.

So good progress to date but we still have many more seats to name, so do please consider making a donation of $1500 to get you or your family’s name, to your business’ title, on to a Theatre seat.

Visit sharethestage.co.nz/takeaseat to find out more and donate.

Local performers quizzed for the Theatre

In mid-July the Share the Stage Performers Quiz Night was held at The Meteor, as both a fun fundraiser and as a mobilisation event to get local performing arts groups involved in ‘building the buzz’ for the new Theatre over the next couple of years.

It was a smash success, with many commenting during and after that it was a rare gathering of such a diverse range of performers and that all of them are excited by the prospect of our new riverside CBD performing arts centre.
