Even in the midst of challenging times, the generosity in our community endures. The Waikato Regional Theatre campaign has been delighted to receive the following new pledges of financial assistance in the latter part of 2021.
Sir William and Lady Judi Gallagher Foundation
In October of this year this legendary local couple made a significant personal commitment to the Theatre, adding to the already generous support from the Gallagher Group and John and Glenice Gallagher.
“We believe the Theatre will be a wonderful asset for Hamilton and the wider Waikato community,” says Sir William. “It is great to see the Theatre’s design incorporating visual aspects of the beautiful Waikato River.”
Murray Porter and the Porter Group
From humble beginnings and with a lot of hard work, Porter Group is now one of the largest distributors of heavy machinery in Oceania, a world-leader in the field of breaking ground.
Murray and the team have a strong community focus and have recently committed significant support to the Waikato Regional Theatre.
WEL Energy Trust
The WEL Energy Trust has confirmed a grant to the development of the Theatre.
Grants Manager Dave Cowley says: “the Waikato Regional Theatre gives the community something to look forward to, it gives hope and will be a much-needed gathering place for artists to take to the stage again and for patrons to support our creative communities. The show must go on!”
NAR Foundation
Neil Richardson, the Chair of Momentum Waikato, has also made a personal contribution to the Theatre.
“As a family we are delighted that the Theatre will be built and very happy to contribute towards its construction cost,” says Neil. “This will be more than a building – the Theatre will be a hub of creative activity, education and fun for the whole community and a place of inspiration for future generations."
Rae Hooper
“I have lived in Hamilton since 1970, when it was still like a rural town. Now it is a multicultural city where the CBD is on the verge of becoming an exciting vibrant place to be, with the Theatre as the catalyst. Just can't wait for it to be finished so we can watch some great shows in a world-class space.”
Thanks to Waikato Regional Theatre supporters.
